This week in our popular Design Focus series we're looking at the Ironbark 1 Modular home design. The Ironbark is a 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom home with a traditional look and feel.

Ideal as a farm-style homestead or rural holiday home, the Ironbark's main points of difference are its traditional country charm, efficient use of space, and attractive price point. ironbark-A.jpg

Like many of our modular home designs, the Ironbark 1 has built in robes in all three bedrooms, including the master bedroom, as opposed to many of our designs which feature a walk in robe as standard in the master bedroom.

The two main bedrooms are well-sized and could each accommodate a double bed comfortably. The third bedroom is smaller and would be ideal as a spare room or study.

Bathroom, Toilets, and Laundry

The bathroom is conveniently located in the middle of the home. A separate standalone toilet is convenient when someone is using the main bathroom.

A bathtub is included as standard and is situated next to the shower. A compact laundry is located close to the bathroom and includes access to outside.

The exterior of the Ironbark 1 comes with the Gable façade as standard, which can easily be customised with one of our many other façade options if desired.

The traditional style facade on this home has been achieved by using hard wearing Weathertex weatherboards, making this exterior ideal for a low maintenance holiday home or family farm house.

An optional 1.8m wide verandah and portico add a whole new dimension to the Ironbark. Verandah similar to that shown in the images below will add some cost to the base price.

Like many of our more traditional homes the front verandah and portico adds a finishing touch and provides a more country homestead style.

The roof of the Ironbark comes with maintenance-free Colorbond as standard.

Living & Dining Area

The Ironbark's living and dining area have a roomy, open plan design with the meals and kitchen area blending seamlessly into the living area, meeting beneath the high cathedral ceilings.

The floor-to-ceiling bay window in the living area provides welcome natural light to the entire living and dining area.

The Ironbark has a compact kitchen that makes use of a traditional U-shaped design. A generously sized pantry and wide array of drawers and cupboards provide ample storage space.

A popular upgrade for this design is Caesarstone bench tops, which add an additional layer of luxury to the standard laminate kitchen surfaces.

Other Notable Features

  • Floor to ceiling bay windows in the master bedroom and living area provide a large amount of natural light
  • A unique cathedral ceiling gives the open plan living and dining areas an added sense of space

Bottom Line

The Ironbark 1 is a traditional, efficient modular home that’s ideal as a country homestead or spacious holiday home for a rural setting.
