So you’ve decided to build a new home, but you’re not sure if a conventional or modular home build is the right choice for you. To help make your decision a little easier, we’ve shared our process so you can see how simple (and fast) it is to get from start to finish on a modular home build.
The first step is to find a design that fits your family and your lifestyle. Our sales and design team will discuss with you the range and incorporate any changes you may request. Once you’ve decided on a design, we’ll provide a detailed price estimate.
At this stage our team will arrange working drawings, site engineering including a soil report, BAL and energy ratings, which will assist in the final design and planning stages. With these reports finalised, we can then provide you with fixed costings so you’ll have a clear picture of the overall cost.
If you require town planning approval, our Permits Team will now complete and submit it to your local council. We’ll keep in touch with the council too, to ensure your application is processed as quickly as possible. When the planning permit is received you’ll visit our colour selection centre to finalise your colours and specifications with the help of our colour consultant.
When the building permit has been issued, we’ll start constructing your home at our Stratford facility. This phase generally takes 8-10 weeks and our Production Team will build your home to around 95% completion. During this time, we’ll keep you updated on the progress, and you’re welcome to drop in anytime to see how it’s coming together.
In the last few weeks of the production phase our Site Team will prepare the footings and connections on your site. We’ll also get your home ready for transportation.
Your new home will arrive on site and we’ll spend 4-6 weeks on the finishing touches that will bring it together. This includes any optional extras you’ve chosen, like additional verandahs, heating & cooling or water tanks. Then we’ll conduct a final inspection together with you, to make sure everything is completed to your satisfaction.
Now, after as little as 12 weeks, your new modular home is all ready for you and your family to move in and enjoy. We can build your modular home so fast because our production process is not affected by the weather or any other outside elements - and this is one of the biggest benefits to a modular home build.
