When designing a new home, one of the top priorities is creating a living space that suits your family and lifestyle. And while the perfect living zone will look different for everyone, a good place to start your planning is to gather ideas from completed projects.
So to make this task easy, we’ve handpicked 5 stunning living areas that we’ve worked with our clients to create. Each has its own personal flavour, and all have been carefully designed with a high level of attention to detail which really shows through. So grab a notebook and get ready to be inspired by 5 of our favourite modular living zones.
The living zone of our Buxton project is an absolute stunner, and the picturesque surrounds only add to the wow factor. Situated in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, our clients have designed a space that takes full advantage of the views and flows seamlessly between indoors and out. The open plan design feels bright and spacious, thanks to the 9ft ceilings and abundance of natural light. The huge bi-fold windows that open out to the decking are the real highlight, extending the living space and creating the ideal setting for relaxed dining or entertaining with family and friends. The wall-mounted fireplace adds ambience and a cosy comfort and includes clever in-built storage for firewood too.

Located in an elevated position overlooking the water in beautiful Gippsland, our Metung project is another home where the views take centre stage. The living space features pale neutral tones for the walls and floors, combined with the darker tones of the ceiling fans, kitchen and furnishing, which gives the home a sophisticated coastal vibe. You can watch the sunset over the ocean through the generously sized windows from the comfort of the couch, or head out through the sliding doors to the elevated decking and enjoy the view over dinner and drinks.

If you’re looking to build a coastal home with a relaxed style that’s ideal for enjoying long summer days and balmy nights, our Rye project is a great source of inspiration. The colour scheme in the living zone works particularly well, with the contrast of neutral and dark tones balanced perfectly by the natural timber floors and furnishings. The large windows provide plenty of natural light, and offer sliding door access from both the meals and living areas to the large open decking and alfresco outside. The clever addition of louvre windows allow the sea breeze through to cool the space on hot days, and the in-built fireplace provides warmth and cosiness when the temperature drops.

One of our all-time favourite living spaces would have to be this beautifully designed space in our Somerville project. The open plan design was customised to suit the needs of the family and is equally suited to enjoying time together or finding a quiet spot to relax in solitude. The kitchen and meals area flows through to the main living space where you can get cosy in front of the inbuilt fireplace. A second lounge is located adjacent, with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Both living areas feature large bi-fold windows which open out the undercover alfresco decking outside, which includes thoughtful design features that make it comfortable year-round.

Who says bigger is always better? The beautifully executed living space in our Marysville project is living proof that a small living zone can still be just as comfortable and stylish as a large space. The raked ceiling adds space and light, creating a bright and breezy feel. The large sliding door and windows let in the surrounding views and open out to the elevated decking. The kitchen is situated along the back wall to make the best use of space and a ceiling fan and split system keep the room comfortable no matter what the season.
