With the new year underway, we are extremely looking forward to creating many stylish and beautiful homes for our clients in 2021!
One of the things we are most excited about, is the stunning range of on trend design features that are taking our homes to the next level.
Whether your style is contemporary or classic, these design features are sure to be a hit!
So if building a new home this year is on your radar, read on to discover some of the on trend interior and exterior modular home design features that should be on your wish list.
When it comes to interiors, there is a growing trend towards features with a classic, understated style, with a subtle modern twist. In the living space and bedrooms, sheer curtains have been getting plenty of interest. They add a level of sophistication, with minimum expense (shown to great effect in our Hampton 14 display home). Another stylish option for the bedroom is adding a timber panel feature wall. This looks wonderful in coastal homes in particular, adding warmth and a relaxed vibe to the space, as seen in our Rye project.
In the kitchen, splashbacks are making a statement with stone and tiled options both proving popular. One feature that’s getting a fantastic response in our new Shoreham 14 display home, is the floor to ceiling blue herringbone tiled feature wall in the main bathroom. It adds just the right amount of colour to pop, without being over the top.
Outside, low maintenance finishes mean less weekend work, and there has been a noticeable movement towards ModWood composite decking. Unlike Merbau, which needs to be stained every 1–2 years, ModWood requires no staining at all and comes in a range of colours and styles to suit your home and tastes.
Contrasting cladding has long been a popular way to create street appeal and interest, and a recent project we completed in Yarck, has used colour and texture in this way to create a stunning exterior that almost matches the view! Darker colours are also popular right now, with black and charcoal proving a winning combination in urban and rural regions, as showcased in our Bayswater display home.
While design trends can often be bold, showstopping and even outlandish, this year a more subdued style is set to prevail. Much of what is emerging involves neutral tones and classic finishes, with a modern, contemporary twist. This is a style with endless potential and flexibility, making it easier than ever to incorporate on trend finishes into your dream modular home.
