When it comes to finding the right modular home design, there are lots of choices – which can make it a real challenge to narrow it down! While the number of bedrooms and bathrooms will help you compile your short list, it’s often the subtle details and unique features of a design that really make it stand out.

So, to help you find the home that feels just right for you, in this series of articles we’re sharing our favourite things about our most popular modular designs – and the focus this week is on the Sorrento.

This large family home has it all – three bedrooms, a study, loads of living space and luxury features like a theatre room and alfresco included as standard. The contemporary design and flexible floor plan make it a popular choice for those looking for a permanent residence or holiday home that has space for the whole family to live comfortably. So, read on to discover some of the highlights of the stylish Sorrento modular home design.

1. Warm and Welcoming Entrance

An attractive and welcoming entry makes a huge difference to the character and street appeal of your home, and the large portico and striking exterior of the Sorrento is a definite winner. The wide steps and undercover decking give off a modern yet cosy vibe while also providing plenty of shelter from the elements. The split-skillion façade looks great and lends itself well to a mixture of complementary colours and styles of cladding to give your home a unique look.

2. Large, Flexible Living Space

If a spacious and flexible living zone is high on your list of priorities, the Sorrento is a great choice. The central open plan living area is bright and modern, with raked ceilings and highlight windows creating a wonderful sense of space. The large family room is set to the side, leading out to the alfresco, creating a link between the outdoors and in. The kitchen is well-appointed with an island bench and walk-in pantry and overlooks the roomy meals area.

The home theatre room creates a second separate living space which is another big plus of this design. Whether you use it to watch your favourite flicks, set it up as a games room, kid’s playroom or parent’s retreat, the options are endless. You can even opt to remove the wall and open it up into the living area to create an even bigger space, as shown here in our Somerville project.

3. Stunning Alfresco is Standard

The Sorrento includes a beautiful alfresco area as standard, which adds luxury and value to the design. The benefits of an easily accessible and well-appointed outdoor space are many - you can enjoy a meal outdoors at short notice when the weather is good, socialise with family and friends or relax with your morning cuppa and brunch on the weekends. There is sliding door access from the living room and meals area, or you could choose to upgrade to bi-fold doors (another highlight of our Somerville project) to really bring the outdoors in.

4. Space and Privacy for All

A subtle but important feature of the floor plan is that it allows everyone in the family plenty of privacy. The three bedrooms are all spaced out in different corners of the house, and bedroom 1 is located in its own wing complete with an ensuite and walk-in robe. The open plan living space, separate theatre room and outdoor alfresco also provides lots of room and different options for the adults and the kids to either get together or do their own thing.

5. Added Bonus of a Study

Whether you work from home or use it for another purpose, the addition of a study is always handy. It can be set up as a home office, or somewhere quiet to study for the students in the house. If your kids are younger it can always be used as a playroom, or you may decide to use the space to indulge a favourite hobby. Plus, there’s always the option of setting it up as a fourth bedroom if you need it.

A Spacious Modern Home to Suit Your Needs

The Hampton range is a favourite amongst our clients and it’s easy to see why. The modern facade, high ceilings, spacious living zone and four design options gives the range a wide appeal. On top of this, each of the four Hampton homes offer plenty of value and the flexibility to customise the designs to create your dream home.
