Creating the ideal home is about more than choosing the right floor plan – you also need the right mix of stylish and practical features. But where do you start?
Some of the best design ideas and inspirations come from peeking inside our completed homes. When you can see how others have executed their design, it provides you with the opportunity to adapt the features you like to suit your own needs.
In this series of articles we look back at our past projects and showcase their top 5 highlights – and this week we’re sharing the best of the two-storey Daylesford project.
The first thing that strikes you is the stunning exterior, which looks right at home in the beauty of the surrounding bush. The modern Cubehaus façade combined with the spotted gum feature cladding helps the home to blend with the natural surrounds, while maintaining the bold, stylish look of the design.
The ability to customise modular designs is a big plus, as it allows you to build a home that matches your lifestyle to a tee. For this project our clients opted for the two-storey Barwon design, with some smart alterations to the floor plan.
The standard design features all four bedrooms on the first floor, with the ground floor devoted to living space. Here, our clients have omitted the theatre room downstairs, which allowed them to move bedroom 4 plus an ensuite to the ground level. Upstairs, they added a second living area in place of bedroom 4, creating a layout that is ideal as a holiday rental.
The stunning living zone is beautifully appointed and has been designed with today’s modern lifestyle in mind. The kitchen is a definite highlight, with gorgeous pendant lighting, monochrome colour scheme and mirrored splashback.
The large picture window in the living room perfectly frames the views and the generous fireplace adds a wonderful sense of ambience to the space.
Our clients have maximised the surrounding views with the inclusion of large picture windows in both living rooms and the bedrooms. Bedroom 1 also has sliding door access to a private balcony, making it easy to slip out and enjoy the natural beauty of the bush.
Much care has been taken in selecting the fixtures, colours and finishes throughout the home, and this is again evident in the gorgeous bathrooms. The main bathroom features a freestanding bath that has been positioned to capture the views which adds to the luxurious feel. The walk-in shower and floor-to-ceiling tiles are another highlight.
This stunning home sits perfectly in its natural surrounds and has been built to BAL-29 to meet the requirements of the BAL rating and Bushfire Management Overlay. From the lighting to the fireplace, and many small and large details in between, the well-chosen features and upgrades make it truly special.
